MEET OUR TEAM

  • Tiffany Skilling is the founder and principal designer of Tiffany Skilling Interiors, an Indianapolis-based luxury interior design firm and retail store. A native of Grand Rapids, MI, Tiffany attended Michigan State University, graduating with a degree in apparel and textile design. Tiffany spent the early years of her career as a fashion designer and clothing production manager in New York City. After the 2008 market crash, Tiffany felt something was missing and pursued a new path. She worked as Director of Operations for the high-end outdoor furniture company, Munder-Skiles in Garrison, NY, which introduced Tiffany to the interior design industry. She and her husband, Jon, eventually returned to the Midwest to raise their young family, first in Michigan where she worked for the retailer Anthropologie, and then in Indianapolis, IN, where they currently reside.

Tiffany’s early career experiences in fashion and textile design paired with her love for art, antiques and her own home renovation projects, inspired her to launch Tiffany Skilling Interiors in 2015. TSI began as Tiffany helped friends and family design their homes around their personal styles and Tiffany became known for her unique abilities to manage projects, lead historical renovations and create highly-customized designs.

Storytelling through design™ is what motivates Tiffany to share her passion on every project. Her firm designs modern spaces with timeless, classic sophistication, incorporating an eclectic aesthetic which is supported by a variety of global vendors, antiques, original art and products sourced from exclusive brands.

Tiffany’s work has been featured in numerous national media outlets which include The Cottage Journal, This Old House, HGTV, Apartment Therapy, LUXE interiors + decor, Business of Home and more. She has also served as an industry thought-leader and brand ambassador for an array of partners like Kohler, Robern and Tisdel/Subzero-Wolf.

Outside of design, Tiffany loves to spend quality time with her husband Jon, their two children and dogs. They enjoy traveling, cooking, creative endeavors, running and giving back. Tiffany actively serves in roles with the Meridian-Kessler Neighborhood Association, Habitat for Humanity Women Build, Women for Riley, and her design firm engages in multiple events to benefit the greater community throughout the year.

  • Jon Skilling is the director of operations for Tiffany Skilling Interiors. A native of Grand Rapids, MI, Jon attended Indiana State University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in sports management. While his career did not begin in the design industry, his experience in business consulting, operations and technology, coupled with being married to Tiffany, led him to join the Tiffany Skilling Interiors team and support the growth of the company in 2024.

Upon graduation, Jon moved to New York City, NY where he and Tiffany met. He began his career in the nonprofit world working for the New York Road Runners and thereafter pivoted into technology and worked for Apple in Connecticut and Grand Rapids, MI when he and Tiffany moved back to their home state. During his time at Apple, Jon developed customer service process improvements that were replicated company-wide and integrated into a global initiative. In 2012, the Skillings moved to Indianapolis and Jon joined Allison Transmission with roles in IT, vehicle technology, and mergers and acquisitions.

Jon founded his own consulting firm in 2020 to guide companies on M&A, strategy and management. Meanwhile, Tiffany Skilling Interiors continued to grow and explore new business processes and opportunities that required additional focus and expertise. In 2024, Tiffany asked Jon to join the company full-time as Director of Operations. In this role, Jon is responsible for the business operations and technology infrastructure that support the success, productivity and communication of the TSI team and contribute to a positive client experience. He is also responsible for leading key business initiatives and implementing growth and performance strategies for the firm and retail store.

Jon and Tiffany love working together and towards shared goals. As a family of four, the Skillings spend quality time together running, cooking, traveling, entertaining, spoiling their two dogs, and have enjoyed several home remodeling and restoration projects in their historic Meridian-Kessler homes.

  • Donna Porter is the showroom manager for Tiffany Skilling Interiors. While her father served in the Air Force, Donna’s family moved around the United States until settling in Dayton, Ohio her freshman year of high school. From there, she attended Bowling Green State University and the Medical College of Ohio where she earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing. For the next 25 years, Donna worked as an intensive care unit nurse and raised her son, Austin.

Donna met her husband, Adam, on a blind date and had a long distance relationship for 10 years while waiting for Austin to graduate high school and study chemical engineering at the University of Cincinnati. In fall of 2014, Donna moved to Indianapolis to be with Adam and work as his nurse in the operating room and office taking care of plastic surgery patients. Sharing a love for historic homes, they lived in the Meridian-Kessler neighborhood and purchased their dream home located on Meridian Street in 2017. Unfortunately, their home was struck by lightening which ignited a fire and resulted in extensive water damage from being extinguished. The couple relocated to a nearby apartment for the next 18 months while the home was restored.

Donna and Adam hired TSI to lead their restoration project. Tiffany and her then project manager arrived at the destroyed home for a consult wearing boots and offering hugs. Donna was fascinated with the design and remodeling process and wanted to be involved with TSI in other projects as well. Donna’s ability to manage complex patients translated seamlessly to TSI as she can assess and organize complex projects. Donna joined the team as showroom manager 2019 and maintains the TSI office, keeping clients and projects organized and accessible. She manages upholstery and framing art for clients and TSI’s showroom as well as the extensive inventory for purchase in the showroom. Donna’s caring nature supports both the TSI team and TSI clients as home visions become a reality.

  • Susana is an interior designer at Tiffany Skilling Interiors and brings nearly two decades of design experience to the firm. Following her love for art and design, Susana graduated with a bachelor's degree in interior design from Purdue University’s School of Engineering. While at Purdue, she focused on sustainability and green design and achieved her LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification through the US Green Building Council.

Susana began her career in Los Angeles, working for Cisco Brothers, a sustainable furniture and interior design firm. Her work mostly involved residential projects, but also included designing furniture with Emily Henderson, creating custom pieces for a member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, styling a home featured in Dwell Magazine, and partnering to convert a historic Downtown LA hotel into a thriving travel destination. Susana also worked with HGTV personality Sabrina Soto on home renovation shows and partnered with several brands for style and promotion.

After a decade in LA, Susana returned to the Midwest where she continues to create beautiful spaces and delight clients. Susana brings incredible experience to the TSI team and every project she leads. When not reveling in design, she creates art with friends, runs, paints, and stares into the eyes of her rescue pug Boris Karloff.

  • Rachel Lechleiter is the buyer for Tiffany Skilling Interiors and its retail store, Le Shoppe. Rachel is a New Orleans native and University of Alabama graduate. She spent her last semester of school working in New York City for the Italian, luxury fashion house Emilio Pucci, which is where she fell in love with bright colors, statement pieces, and unique, standout designs. She remained in NYC for the next 6 years, attended Parsons School of Design and worked for several different designers including Diane von Furstenberg and Ports 1961.

While pursuing her NYC fashion dreams, she met and fell in love with her now husband. They both share a love for adventure and travel. Over the next 10 years they lived and worked in Boston, Singapore, San Francisco, Indianapolis, Hong Kong, and Sydney, Australia. In that time, they were blessed with 3 beautiful children. Rachel’s family traveled the world, immersed themselves in new cultures, and had some of the most amazing adventures and experiences. Living abroad Rachel’s passion for fashion design expanded from clothing to interiors. She loved learning how different cultures live: from a tiny apartment dwelling in Singapore and Hong Kong to beachside living in Australia. Each place had its own unique character. Along the way she was exposed to distinctive designs and brands. She could not help but collect unique antiques and furniture from all over the world.

In 2021, Rachel and her family relocated to Indianapolis. Rachel hired Tiffany Skilling Interiors to help with her family’s home revamp and the stars aligned as Tiffany and Rachel inspired one another. In 2022, Rachel joined the TSI team as the buyer who oversees Le Shoppe retail offerings and supports product curation for TSI design projects. Rachel’s eye for design and enthusiasm for finding unique products and artisans, enables TSI to provide its clients with a variety of global vendors, antiques, original art and products sourced from exclusive brands.

  • Tina Wiley is a project manager at Tiffany Skilling Interiors, where she plays a pivotal role in supporting client projects from project specifications to final installation. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for both functionality and beauty, Tina ensures every project is executed seamlessly.

Originally from Canal Fulton, OH, Tina’s interest in interior design began during her college years at Kent State University, where she studied the field for two years. While in college, she worked for Estee Lauder Companies, a position that launched her 28-year career in management and sales.

In 1988, Tina took a year-long career hiatus to travel through Europe, immersing herself in its rich architecture and diverse cultures. During this time, she spent countless hours in museums, capturing the essence of her travels by painting watercolor scenes of the moments she encountered.

Upon returning to the States, Tina shifted her focus to family life and became a full-time mother as she raised three children. However, she continued to nurture her passion for design by helping friends organize and style their spaces. What started as a hobby turned into an opportunity to manage an operations team, where she gained experience in shipping, receiving, merchandising, and construction. Yet, Tina found that her true passion lay in working directly with clients and creating beautiful, functional spaces.

Bringing together her organizational expertise and love for design, Tina joined an interior design firm in 2019 as a project manager. In 2024, she became part of the Tiffany Skilling Interiors team, where she continues to channel her creativity and organizational skills into every project.

Outside of work, Tina fosters her creative side through painting, sewing, and organizing, and stays active by running and walking.

  • Helena Jensen is the procurement manager at Tiffany Skilling Interiors, where her natural problem-solving abilities, love for numbers, and expertise in technology ensure that TSI projects run seamlessly from product specification to final installation.

A 2024 graduate of Indiana University with a degree in informatics and a focus in cybersecurity, Helena has always had a passion for working with computers. After graduation, she started her career in computer repairs and consultations while joining TSI in a part-time capacity. Initially supporting the design team with product specifications, Helena’s role quickly expanded into a full-time position.

As procurement manager, Helena is responsible for specifying design items such as custom furniture, accessories, and materials, researching products, managing inventory, tracking shipments, and maintaining communication with vendors. Her attention to detail and organizational skills are key to ensuring the smooth execution of TSI's projects.

Helena finds the projects and environment at TSI particularly inspiring and greatly enjoys the creative arts in her spare time.

A native of Indianapolis, Chelsea attended Ball State University after graduating from Bishop Chatard High School and earned a degree in public relations. Chelsea is a dedicated professional with a rich background in philanthropy and relationship-building, deeply rooted in her local community.

Chelsea’s involvement in Riley Hospital Dance Marathon in high school and college sparked her enduring passion for non-profit work, especially that which supports the lives of children. Her degree in Public Relations played a pivotal role in reviving Ball State’s Dance Marathon program to support Riley Hospital for Children. Her internships at Clarian Health (now IU Health) and Riley Children’s Foundation further solidified her passion, leading her to a role with Special Olympics Indiana where she managed over 10,000 volunteers and later returned to Riley Children’s Foundation as a Dance Marathon Coordinator and, ultimately, as a Grateful Families Officer. This role allowed her to work closely with families, providing meaningful ways for them to support the hospital and others undergoing care and treatment at Riley.

Chelsea’s love for antiques and historic preservation, influenced by treasure hunts with her own mother growing up, complements her professional journey into the interior design world with TSI. Chelsea’s first engagements with TSI were as a client as the firm transformed her home through a historic renovation. She has also been actively involved in local non-profits, serving on boards for the Children’s Museum Guild, Youth Opportunity Foundation, and Jewish Community Center (JCC).

In her personal life, Chelsea enjoys spending time with her husband Alex, their three children and two adorable dogs. The family’s shared interests include traveling, exploring Indianapolis, and volunteering. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree of science in food and nutrition from the University of Southern Indiana in 2021. Georgia later went on to pass her national board certification as a health and wellness coach and worked as a health coach for several years, but eventually decided to explore other creative avenues and industries. Her keen eye for detail, organized approach to all she does and enthusiasm for helping others, enables Georgia to be an incredible team member and special projects leader at TSI.

Georgia first connected with Tiffany Skilling five years ago while nannying for Tiffany’s two children and developed a strong relationship with the family. She was always captivated by Tiffany’s ability to transform spaces into timeless designs while also leading her growing design firm. When Tiffany mentioned needing support for her growing business at the start of 2025, Georgia eagerly accepted the opportunity and joined TSI full-time as an administrative assistant.

  • Carmen is an interior designer with Tiffany Skilling Interiors whose approach to design is guided by a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives through the power of well-designed spaces. Born and raised in Fishers, Indiana, Carmen discovered her passion for interior design when her parents let her redesign a few rooms in their family home. Realizing the potential for a career in design and inspired by Chicago's vibrant design scene, Carmen moved to the city to pursue her dreams. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in interior architecture Columbia College Chicago, solidifying her dedication to the craft.

Carmen’s career began at the Chicago Merchandise Mart where she worked in a luxury residential interior design showroom. She then transitioned into commercial design, joining a firm specializing in hotels and apartment complexes. She worked on a diverse range of projects, from multi-million dollar brands like Hilton and Hampton to smaller boutique hotels that were family-owned. This experience provided Carmen with a broad perspective on commercial design, from large-scale projects to more intimate and personalized spaces. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted the hospitality industry, leading Carmen to pivot and explore new opportunities. She and her husband decided to return to their roots in Indiana.

Over the course of her design experiences, Carmen realized she truly enjoyed the connections made when working on a client's home. Carmen decided to transition into residential design and joined the TSI team in 2024. At TSI, Carmen aims to craft environments that not only look visually appealing but also feel comfortable and inviting, enhancing the overall quality of life for those who inhabit them.

When Carmen isn't immersed in the world of design, you can often find her on the hunt for hidden gems in thrift or antique stores. She also enjoys spending time with her furry companion, a 95-pound Bernedoodle, and cherishes moments spent with her husband and family.

  • Sydney is an interior designer at Tiffany Skilling Interiors and first engaged with the firm as an intern. Her journey into the world of design began during her tenure at Purdue University. Graduating in the spring of 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in interior design and concentrations in art history and construction graphics, Sydney cultivated her skills in crafting immersive spaces that seamlessly merge aesthetics with functionality.

During her academic pursuits, Sydney’s passion for residential interior design was ignited as she interned with TSI. She particularly enjoyed unraveling the stories behind the unique details of historic homes. Sydney found her niche of crafting dream spaces for clients that are eager to preserve the character and charm of their properties.

Upon graduation, Sydney worked on various residential projects, where she excelled in adding charm and depth to her clients' projects. Sydney returned to TSI as a full-time interior designer and remains eager to learn from her peers while infusing her own creativity into each design.

She began as a veterinary assistant and rose to become a Foster Care Manager, overseeing up to 200 animals and hundreds of foster families at a time. Her leadership and deep empathy made her an invaluable part of the team.

While her professional background began in animal care, Anna has long carried a passion for art and design—a love deeply rooted in her upbringing. Raised in a family immersed in the arts, with a father who is a renowned artist and screenprinter, Anna developed a keen eye for aesthetics early on. She has experience in freelance branding and graphic design, and a talent for breathing new life into vintage pieces. Her work in antique restorations, both at Story Chapter 1 and in personal projects, reflects her commitment to craftsmanship and storytelling through interiors.

Outside of her role at the store, Anna channels her Enneagram 3 drive into her real estate investment business with her husband, where they tackle every renovation and management task themselves. She finds joy in creative problem-solving, hands-on work, and continual learning. In her downtime, Anna enjoys DIY projects, exploring antique markets, and spending time with her husband and their beloved pets.

  • Erica Waggoner is a retail sales associate at Story at TSI. Greeting all customers with a warm smile, Erica is originally from Valparaiso, IN and attended Butler University. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in marketing and a minor in public relations/advertising. Her passion for quality customer interaction and high sales production is evident by her previous outside sales roles within the food, pharmaceutical and tech industries.

Erica and her husband Matt met one another their very first day on Butler’s campus. After dating throughout college, they later married and planted roots in the Meridian-Kessler neighborhood. They instantly fell in love with the charm, character and story of old homes. After years of working, Erica shifted her focus to staying home to support their growing family and raising their three children.

Erica has always had a passion for creating unique, beautiful spaces. Her mother was an art teacher and she has countless childhood memories of her parents taking her and her brother to open houses and antique shops. When Matt and Erica found a vacant home in the Butler Tarkington neighborhood, they inquired about (and eventually purchased) the home the old fashioned way–by placing a letter in the mailbox. The Waggoners did a full renovation to their home and it was later featured on the Midtown Holiday Home Tour in 2019.

Erica is thrilled to join the TSI team and be surrounded and inspired by such unique design talent. In her free time she enjoys an active lifestyle, traveling with her family, hosting friends for dinner, and walking her dog Goldie.

She finds inspiration in the talented team at TSI and delights in helping visitors find the perfect addition to their home’s story.

Leah’s journey with Story began when she met Tiffany Skilling, who opened her home for the Meridian-Kessler Home Tour. It was Tiffany's ability to blend timeless design with modern touches in older homes that inspired Leah to seek her out for advice on updating her own home's lighting. Today, Leah counts Tiffany as a friend and fellow adventurer—having shared runs in both the Giant Redwood Forest and the Mojave Desert in Joshua Tree.

Living in the Meridian-Kessler neighborhood with her husband, two teenagers, and beloved cats, Leah enjoys yoga, reading, family time, and running. Recently, she completed the Abbott World Marathon Majors, having run the Berlin, Boston, Chicago, London, New York, and Tokyo Marathons.

That shift led her to Story, where she’s committed to learning the craft of upholstery alongside the studio's collaborative design team.
